Editorial policy
Our standards
- Primary sources first. Tax rules come from the IRS and the Internal Revenue Code. Market concepts are checked against regulators and exchange or issuer documentation.
- Show the working. Examples on our pages are computed by the same engine as our calculators, so text and tools agree.
- No hype. We don't promise returns, rank “best” stocks or tell you what to buy.
- Original writing. We research widely, but we write our own explanations and examples. We use software tools, including AI-assisted drafting, as aids. A person checks every page for accuracy before it is published.
Reviews and updates
Each page shows a “last reviewed” date. Tax pages are reviewed when the IRS publishes annual inflation adjustments (usually October or November) and whenever tax law changes. Calculator pages are reviewed whenever the methodology changes.
Corrections
If you find an error, email contact@dividendcalculatorusa.com with the page and what looks wrong. We aim to respond within five business days. Material corrections are fixed promptly and noted at the bottom of the affected page.
Advertising and independence
We earn money from display advertising and may in future use clearly labelled affiliate links. Revenue never determines what we write or how our calculators work, and ads are kept visually separate from calculator inputs and results.
