About DividendCalculatorUSA

We build free dividend calculators for US investors, and we show our working.

Why this site exists

Most dividend calculators give you a single big number and very little explanation of how they got there. Change one setting and the result jumps, and it is hard to tell whether that's insight or an artefact of the maths. We think a financial calculator should be as transparent as a good spreadsheet and as easy to use as a good app. So every tool here shows its assumptions, every formula is published on our methodology page, and the worked examples on each page are generated by the same code the calculators run.

What we focus on

  • US investors. US tax rules, US account types (taxable, IRA, 401(k), Roth) and US dollar figures.
  • Long-term income. Dividend growth, reinvestment and what income a portfolio could realistically produce.
  • Plain English. Our guides explain one thing properly, with numbers you can reproduce.

Independence

We don't sell investments or manage money, and we aren't paid to recommend any stock, fund or broker. The site is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no say in our tools or content, and we label any sponsored or affiliate link clearly.

Accuracy

Our calculation engine is covered by automated tests that check results against hand-worked examples. Tax figures come from IRS publications and are reviewed when the IRS publishes new annual adjustments. If you spot an error, please tell us at contact@dividendcalculatorusa.com. See our editorial policy for how we handle corrections.
